Pool tiling and coping
Our NSW licence covers wall and floor tiling as well as pool building, so we retile pools in Western Sydney ourselves: new waterline tiles, full mosaic interiors and the coping around the edge. Send a few photos for a free quote.
Pool tiles live underwater, in the sun and through every change in water chemistry, so they fail where the bed underneath wasn’t prepared or the adhesive and grout weren’t made for submerged work. Most retiling jobs start by finding out why the old tiles came loose, and when only a few have, a tile repair re-fixes them on a sound bed.

Why Superior
Superior Pools & Spas started in 2024, built on more than 15 years of building and renovating pools. Our NSW Contractor Licence covers swimming pool building and wall and floor tiling, so the same business shapes the pool, lays its interior and sets every tile. Builders bring us in for the pools on their projects too.

Local know-how
Western Sydney covers five councils, from Parramatta to Penrith and the Hawkesbury, with generally flatter blocks, more room and hotter summers. Reactive clay is common, so the engineering matters as much as the design.
Reactive clay is engineered for with extra steel and footings, so the shell doesn’t crack as the ground moves.
Evaporation is higher out west, so a pool cover and shade over part of the pool are worth planning in.
Larger and semi-rural blocks can be bush fire prone or flood affected, which changes the approval path.

Questions
What people ask us about pool tiling and coping before they book.
Exact matches are rare on older pools, because tile ranges change. That's why waterline tiles are usually replaced as a full band rather than patched.
Usually the grout. Water chemistry and age wear it down, and once it goes, water gets behind the tiles and they start to lift.
New waterline tiles usually take a few days to a week, depending on how much water has to come out and how the old tiles come off. A fully tiled interior takes longer, typically two to four weeks, with time for the adhesive and grout to cure before the pool is filled.
Often the water only needs to come down below the tile line. If tiles further down or the render behind them have failed, the pool has to be emptied.
